Writing for Self-Discovery Workshop
”there is increasing evidence that our blind spots are substantial”
Vazire & Carlson, Current Directions in Psychological Science
Welcome to this lesson in Writing for Self-Discovery, where we make use of the metaphor to step outside our ourselves, and catch a glimpse of how others might see us.
Metaphors are tools that offer new insight, encourage us to think outside the box and reward us with meaning that resonates emotionally. And as emotions shape thoughts more than logic, this is important in helping to establish new patterns of thinking.
Over thirty minutes you can expect to:
- Cut through the lens of bias, wishes, motive and fear that currently distorts the way you see yourself.
- Catch a glimpse of how someone else sees you.
- Go forward with a sense of self-perception that is more aligned with behaviour.
- Find new solutions and/or approaches to the relationship you have explored.
